SSPA,
SUMMER SCHOOL ON PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS
The Summer School on Pharmaceutical Analysis
(SSPA) is planned under the auspices of the Division of Medicinal
Chemistry of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) and the European
Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC). SSPA is mainly addressed
to researchers and PhD students from the Faculties of Pharmacy and
Sciences and to researchers from pharmaceutical industries. Since
2008, SSPA covers a three-year program on the most advanced analytical
methodologies involved into the launch of new drugs, starting from
the discovery phase (hit identification, structure properties relationship),
through drug development (lead optimisation, ADMET studies, biomarkers
identification), ending with formulation quality control and validation.
New cycles will follow, in which the most recent analytical topics
in the specific phase will be introduced.
In 2010, the third year of SSPA cycle (SSPA 2010)
will be focused on ‘ADVANCED
ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGIES IN DRUG PREFORMULATION/FORMULATION
AND QUALITY CONTROL’ and
will take place at the Aula Magna, Polo Scientifico e Didattico
di Rimini, Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, Via
Angherà 22, Rimini, Italy, on the 13-16 June 2010.
The school is open to a limited number of students and the official
language is English.
International scientists coming to Rimini for the SSPA 2010 may
take the opportunity to enlarge their knowledge into the field of
pharmaceutical analysis in the frame of the following aspects: physical
properties characterization during pharmaceutical product development,
formulation and preformulation, analytical
quality by design and
method validation.
On the behalf of the Scientific committee,
it is my pleasure to cordially invite all young scientists involved
in the field of pharmaceutical analytical methodologies to join
us in Rimini.
